Can you actually put ruffles and florals together to build an outfit? Isn’t it too much?
Those were the questions on my mind while preparing this outfit.
As much as I like ruffles and florals, I usually go for more simple outfits because they fit better with my persona, but this time I thought I should get out of my comfort zone and experiment a little. This was one of those outfits that I had no clue how was gonna look until I saw the pictures and I was not disappointed.
According to Vogue.cu.uk the description of a ruffle as an ornamental frill first entered common parlance in 1707. Prior to that, “ruffle” meant “to disturb the smoothness of”, perhaps from the low German “ruffelen”, meaning to wrinkle or curl, so after all it makes sense.
The ruffle trend has been extremely popular at this year’s Fashion Week and it is already set to be present in spring 2018 Fashion Week. That is why I think that investing in a ruffle shirt right now, like this one for example is a very good idea. You can wear it for the whole Fall season with denim or any other skirt for the matter, PLUS you can wear it next year also. The top was gifted for me together together with the sunglasses from Zaful. Personally, I’ve been familiar with their brand for a really long time, seeing them on social media but never have I tried anything from them until now. This top comes at a really great price and a quite impressive quality as well. Check out more of their lace up blouses on their website.

Florals? For autumn? Yes, please. While florals for spring would be the more traditional style, this fall is coming with surprises. Sms.com is saying that florals together with classic tailoring are the perfect tran-seasonal mix. And this is the perfect time to consider invest in a transeasonal wardrobe. In fact, if you mix together the classic tailoring and floral you build yourself the perfect outfit for attending Fashion Week, going to work, lunch or dinner dates. Looking for classic suits inspiration? Lots of ideas in my previous post, The perfect suit, a trend that is here to stay. This black leather skirt from HERE caught my eye while I was visiting the store a week ago and since then I keep thinking about it. The same skirt can be styled with a chunky sweater and over the knee boots, don’t you think?
All in all, I hope you guys liked this outfit that combines two of the most worn trends of this year’s Fashion Week in one. As I said in my previous post, I am not one to jump over the trends unless they fit my personal style and they are here to stay. These definitely are.
